ABOUT US
ABOUT US
Together we are a community of believers. What does that mean, the word community? We believe that together, in fellowship, we grow closer to God and one another. The Bible speaks about iron sharpening iron, and so we believe that together. we grow stronger.
We strive to be a church without walls. Jesus calls for us to go outside the walls to reach the lost and the broken. It is there that the lost will be found. Most churches find it is comfortable to stay within the walls, but we make it an effort to be like the church from the book of Acts, to see our town changed. You will often find us out in the community, wearing our blue shirts bearing the slogan, "The church has left the building."
We highly value our relationships with one another. We look to grow through fellowship, and ultimately growing closer to God. We value the word of God, and the leadership of the Holy Spirit. We look to extend grace to all of the lost and broken, and lead those with no hope to the hope of Jesus Christ.

OUR HISTORY
SMALL BEGINNINGS
What is a Quaker?
Quakers are a religious group that emerged in England in the 17th century. They are also known as the Religious Society of Friends. Quakers place a strong emphasis on the idea that there is "that of God in everyone," which means that they believe that all people have the potential to experience a direct relationship with God without the necessary intervention of clergy or priests. Quakers believe in the importance of living a simple life, and they emphasize the values of peace, equality, and social justice.
Though some Quaker churches are "unprogrammed" and do not have a formal structure, Knightstown Friends Church is what is called a "programmed meeting", which is a variation of Quakerism that evolved over time to incorporate more structured elements into their worship practices. Knightstown Friends has a Pastor who leads the service and delivers a prepared sermon. Each service will also include hymns, readings from the Bible, and prayers.
Quaker churches emphasize the importance of seeking spiritual truth within oneself, living a life of integrity, and working for the betterment of all humanity. Attendees at a Friends church are encouraged to participate actively in the service and to share their personal experiences and reflections.
